INSTANTANEOUS AUXILIARY RELAYS
Monostable and Bistable Instantaneous auxiliary relays
Instantaneous monostable relays (RAG and TAA) are used as auxiliary relays linked with protection relays where it is necessary to multiply control contacts. This is also particularly true in control/command and automatic switching schemes which require a large number of repeated contacts. (es. change over schemes, automatic transfer and all automation applications).
Instantaneous bistable relays (RADE type) are mainly used as contact multipliers in control systems, where two different stable
positions are required, i.e.: YES/NO, OPEN/CLOSED, AUTOMATIC/MANUAL, etc…
Other important uses are:
» electrical or hand reset tripping relays [86]
» remote control relay.
